The Hiding Place by Corrie Ten Boom
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Synopsis:The Hiding Place is a riveting page-turner describing how a middle-aged Dutch watchmaker's daughter became a heroine of the Resistance, a survivor of Hitler's concentration camps, and one of the most remarkable evangelists of the twentieth century.
Genres: Auto-Biography, True Story, WW2, Historical, Christian, inspiring
Review: THIS BOOK IS AMAZING! It's a wonderful read. It's the truly powerful and inspiring story of Corrie Ten Boom and her family in WW2 and their experiences hiding Jews and their life in a Concentration Camp. Corrie constantly amazed me with her faith in the Lord and how she kept him in her thoughts when she would start to think bad thoughts about all the horrible things that were happening to her and her family. It's a ruly amazing and enlightening book. Highly recommended. Not recommended for anyone under 12 (It is sad espescially dealing with the WW2 topic).

The Lightning Thief by Rick Riordan
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Synopsis: After getting expelled from yet another school for yet another clash with mythological monsters only he can see, twelve-year-old Percy Jackson is taken to Camp Half-Blood, where he finally learns the truth about his unique abilities: He is a demigod, half human, half immortal. Even more stunning: His father is the Greek god Poseidon, ruler of the sea, making Percy one of the most powerful demigods alive. There's little time to process this news. All too soon, a cryptic prophecy from the Oracle sends Percy on his first quest, a mission to the Underworld to prevent a war among the gods of Olympus.
Genres: Fantasy, Fiction, Mythology, Adventure
Review: I just loved this book!!!. It was gripping from literally the first page. The idea is totally clever and original, with plot twists and surprises that make you never want to put this book down. It's well written, and reading from the protagonist Percy's POV(point of view) is totally fun. It's hard not to fall in love with Percy and the world that Rick Riordan has so masterfully created and crafted. You also learn about Greek Mythology along the way. Very fun and enjoyable by all pre-teens, teenagers and even adults alike.

The Witch of Blackbird Pond by Elizabeth George Speare
My rating: 4 of 5 stars
Synopsis: A high-spirited teenage girl rebels against the narrow-minded ways of Puritan Connecticut and befriends a lonely old woman who is subsequently accused of being a witch.
Genres: Historical Fiction, Classic
Review: This book is very catching. It starts off a little slow but once you are into it you are pretty much hooked. The topic is an interesting one, and very historical while the novel itself is fiction. Speare weaves and intricate story. It's enjoyable and fun to read. Plus you learn some things about the topic if covers, The Salem Witch Trials. Well written and enjoyable.
The Swiss Family Robinson by Johann David Wyss
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Synopsis: After a shipwreck, the narrator, his wife, and four sons find themselves castaways on an uninhabited island. Retrieving what they can from the ship, they construct a life for themselves through their own resourcefulness — building a tree house, finding such foods as coconuts, sugarcane, honey, and potatoes, and securing themselves against danger.
Genres: Classic, Adventure, Survival, Fiction.
Review: I love this book! It's a wholesome enriching classic. Full of adventure and other fun happenings, it follows a family of rowdy boys and their parents. The things they create to survive on an island are quite ingenius and creative. It's very fun to read. The writing is enriching. There are some hard words, but it is generally understandable. One thing I love is that the family does not forget to thank God for their blessings and the things that work out for them. A classic everyone will enjoy.

Before You Meet Prince Charming: A Guide to Radiant Purity by Sarah Mally
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Synopsis: This guide to radiant purity combines the thoughts and events in the life of a young princess with solid, clear teaching of Biblical convictions that young ladies today need to grasp. Through a captivating fairy tale, modern day examples, practical instruction and abundant humor, Sarah Mally challenges young ladies to turn to the Lord for fulfillment, to guard their hearts and minds, to identify and avoid the world's thinking and to shine brightly in this generation.
Genres: Teen, Religious
Review: This was a wonderful book! Sarah Mally, is trying to address how instead of getting yourself immersed in boys and dreaming about your own "happily ever after" romance, you could be using your time as the Lord would want you to. It talks about how you should wait upon the Lord and he will bring your and your Prince Charming together when HE is ready. Not You. It is full of amazing suggestions, ideas, and scriptures, and lots more! to help illustrate her point, she has a princess theme going and at the beginning of each chapter you read part of a princess story. Altogether this is an amazing book for all Teenage girls 12 and up. I Loved this book, although there were some points I did not agree on, based on my beliefs. However this book is very good and I do really enjoy it.

Cyrano de Bergerac by Edmond Rostand
My rating: 5 of 5 stars
Synopsis: Edmond Rostand's bittersweet melodrama tells the tale of France's master swordsman--Cyrano de Bergerac, a valiant soldier cursed with the face of a clown. Gallantry, love, poetry, and failure all combine in this timeless classic.
Genres: Historical Fiction, Play, Comedy
Review: This is like one of the most amazing books that I have ever read! It's a Play, and a Heroic comedy. EPICLY ENTERTAINING AND JUST SUPER FUN TO READ. I wouldn't say it's the easiest play to read but it is for sure not Shakespeare. :D I recommend this book to like every adult and teen out there! EPIC FUNNY!
Personally I didn't like the ending. But that is not an excuse to not read the book. It is worth it despite the ending.
