Summary: Ellie Morgan's life would be perfect if she could just get her potentially prize-winning pumpkin, Max, to put on about two hundred more pounds, and if she could lose twenty herself. With the extra weight, Max would be the champion of the Rock River Pumpkin Weigh-In; minus twenty pounds, Ellie would have the courage to approach Wes, the new boy in town. But unpredictable weather is threatening Max, pumpkin thieves are running rampant, and Sweet Corn Coquette contestants are eyeing Wes. Will Ellie be able to go for it all?

The Book In 3 Words: Funny, Contemporary, Sweet

Rad Review: This was such a cute book. I read it for a book club and I loved it. It's a very quick and light read for one of those pick-me-up days. Following Ellie and her obbsession with growing her giant pumpkin Max is extremely fun. To top that off, the new boy Wes moves to town and he grows...corn! Instant crush on Ellie's side.

It's sweet, with fun snarky comments stuck in there. With a little family drama with her dad, tastes of romance and tons of pumpkins this is for sure a delightful read. I can't wait to read some of Joan Bauers other books.

Content: Squeaky Clean Read!

Now that I've read some of Joan's work, I'm really excited to read some of her other books such as Peeled & Close to Famous.
