Manor of Secrets
by Katherine Longshore
Publishing: February 2014
Lady Charlotte Edmonds: Beautiful, wealthy and sheltered, Charlotte feels suffocated by the strictures of upper-crust society. She longs to see the world beyond The Manor, to seek out high adventure—and most of all, romance.
Janie Seward: Fiery, hardworking, and clever, Janie knows she can be more than just a kitchen maid. But she isn’t sure she possesses the courage—or the means—to break free and follow her passions.
Both Charlotte and Janie are ready for change. As their paths overlap in the gilded hallways and dark corridors of The Manor, rules are broken and secrets are revealed. Secrets that will alter the course of their lives…forever.
So I'm a historical nut and this book ALREADY sounded amazing. then I realized it was written by Katherine Longshore who writes amazing historical books! Not to mention the synopsis sounds very exciting! Secrets! Manors! Holla! And doesn't the cover look just like a character out of Downton Abbey? Looks pretty awesome!

Pawn
by Aimee Carter
Publishing: 11. 26. 13
For Kitty Doe, it seems like an easy choice. She can either spend her life as a III in misery, looked down upon by the higher ranks and forced to leave the people she loves, or she can become a VII and join the most powerful family in the country. This book sounds phenomenal! From the catching premise I've gotten super excited about this one. This sounds like and Uglies meets The Selection! How cool is that? Not to mention the cover is pretty awesome itself! I'm super excited to read this one!
If she says yes, Kitty will be Masked—surgically transformed into Lila Hart, the Prime Minister's niece, who died under mysterious circumstances. As a member of the Hart family, she will be famous. She will be adored. And for the first time, she will matter.
There's only one catch. She must also stop the rebellion that Lila secretly fostered, the same one that got her killed and one Kitty believes in. Faced with threats, conspiracies and a life that's not her own, she must decide which path to choose—and learn how to become more than a pawn in a twisted game she's only beginning to understand.

Colette Iselin is excited to go to Paris on a class trip. She’ll get to soak up the beauty and culture, and maybe even learn something about her family’s French roots.
But a series of gruesome murders are taking place across the city, putting everyone on edge. And as she tours museums and palaces, Colette keeps seeing a strange vision: a pale woman in a ball gown and powdered wig, who looks suspiciously like Marie Antoinette.
Colette knows her popular, status-obsessed friends won’t believe her, so she seeks out the help of a charming French boy. Together, they uncover a shocking secret involving a dark, hidden history. When Colette realizes she herself may hold the key to the mystery, her own life is suddenly in danger . . .
Why I'm Waiting:
So my first reaction to this book was...um, WEE-ERD. But then later, when I was in this mode for thrillers, and this book would just not leave, I took another look and this time my historical side won. And now in my excitement for weirdly creepy books and historicalness, I can't wait for this book to release in a couple months. Not to mention the cover is a stunningly creepy as well. Oh, and French boys? Oui!

It is the year 2059. Several major world cities are under the control of a security force called Scion. Paige Mahoney works in the criminal underworld of Scion London, part of a secret cell known as the Seven Seals. The work she does is unusual: scouting for information by breaking into others’ minds. Paige is a dreamwalker, a rare kind of clairvoyant, and in this world, the voyants commit treason simply by breathing.
But when Paige is captured and arrested, she encounters a power more sinister even than Scion. The voyant prison is a separate city—Oxford, erased from the map two centuries ago and now controlled by a powerful, otherworldly race. These creatures, the Rephaim, value the voyants highly—as soldiers in their army.
Paige is assigned to a Rephaite keeper, Warden, who will be in charge of her care and training. He is her master. Her natural enemy. But if she wants to regain her freedom, Paige will have to learn something of his mind and his own mysterious motives.
Why I'm Waiting:
I've heard of this book, but it's never really caught my attention until just recently. Look at it! Swoon at the epic-looking cover. Read the freaking amazing premise. Are you hooked? I can't believe this comes out next month! Happy day!!!!!

Proxy
by Alex London
Releasing: 6-18-13 by Philomel

Ummm, this book sounds AMAZING! Do I need to say anything else?! A Proxy who'll take your punishments? That's kinda interesting! And it's set in a dystopia-ish society? Cool! I love adventure books like this! Action...awesome world-building..?! EEEEP! And the reviews are already amazing. Plus I won't deny that cover is kinda intriguing. So basically it just sounds AWESOME-SAUCE.

Proxyby Alex London
Releasing: 6-18-13 by Philomel
Knox was born into one of the City’s wealthiest families. A Patron, he has everything a boy could possibly want—the latest tech, the coolest clothes, and a Proxy to take all his punishments. When Knox breaks a vase, Syd is beaten. When Knox plays a practical joke, Syd is forced to haul rocks. And when Knox crashes a car, killing one of his friends, Syd is branded and sentenced to death. Why I'm Hyperventilating:
Syd is a Proxy. His life is not his own.
Then again, neither is Knox’s. Knox and Syd have more in common than either would guess. So when Knox and Syd realize that the only way to beat the system is to save each other, they flee. Yet Knox’s father is no ordinary Patron, and Syd is no ordinary Proxy. The ensuing cross-country chase will uncover a secret society of rebels, test both boys’ resolve, and shine a blinding light onto a world of those who owe and those who pay. Some debts, it turns out, cannot be repaid.

But when a strange, serious young man moves into the flat downstairs, introducing her to a secret society that studies people with gifts like hers, he threatens to reveal the secrets Anna has fought so hard to keep, forcing her to face the truth about her past. Deception
by C. J. Redwine

Baalboden has been ravaged. The brutal Commander's whereabouts are unknown. And Rachel, grief stricken over her father's death, needs Logan more than ever. With their ragged group of survivors struggling to forge a future, it's up to Logan to become the leader they need—with Rachel by his side. Under constant threat from rival Carrington's army, who is after the device that controls the Cursed One, the group decides to abandon the ruins of their home and take their chances in the Wasteland. Why I'm Hyperventilating:
But soon their problems intensify tenfold: someone—possibly inside their ranks—is sabotaging the survivors, picking them off one by one. The chaos and uncertainty of each day puts unbearable strain on Rachel and Logan, and it isn't long before they feel their love splintering. Even worse, as it becomes clear that the Commander will stop at nothing to destroy them, the band of survivors begins to question whether the price of freedom may be too great—and whether, hunted by their enemies and the murderous traitor in their midst, they can make it out of the Wasteland

Spies & Prejudice
by Talia Vance
Releasing: June 11, 2013 by Egmont

Look at it! It's a spy book mashed up with Pride and Prejudice!!! What could be better right? Who doesn't love a fun book about spies and romance? Who doesn't love a little Mr. Darcy, in any form you can get him? I'm stoked to read this one. It looks like a charming book. And the cover is totally cute, even if the model looks like a barbie doll. Tanner sounds fab in all his arrogant gorgeous glory, and Berry seems like an uber sweet MC with a kick to her. I can't wait!!! Meep!! Hurry up June.

Spies & Prejudiceby Talia Vance

Fields’ Rule #1: Don’t fall for the enemy. Berry Fields is not looking for a boyfriend. She’s busy trailing cheaters and liars in her job as a private investigator, collecting evidence of the affairs she’s sure all men commit. And thanks to a pepper spray incident during an eighth grade game of spin the bottle, the guys at her school are not exactly lining up to date her, either. Why I'm Hyperventilating:
So when arrogant—and gorgeous—Tanner Halston rolls into town and calls her “nothing amazing,” it’s no loss for Berry. She’ll forget him in no time. She’s more concerned with the questions surfacing about her mother’s death. But why does Tanner seem to pop up everywhere in her investigation, always getting in her way?Is he trying to stop her from discovering the truth, or protecting her from an unknown threat? And why can't Berry remember to hate him when he looks into her eyes?
