A Breath Of Eyre by Eve Marie Mont

Emma Townsend has always believed in stories—the ones she reads voraciously, and the ones she creates in her head. Perhaps it’s because she feels like an outsider at her exclusive prep school, or because her stepmother doesn’t come close to filling the void left by her mother’s death. And her only romantic prospect—apart from a crush on her English teacher—is Gray Newman, a long-time friend who just adds to Emma’s confusion. But escape soon arrives in an old leather-bound copy of Jane Eyre…

Reading of Jane’s isolation sparks a deep sense of kinship. Then fate takes things a leap further when a lightning storm catapults Emma right into Jane’s body and her nineteenth-century world. As governess at Thornfield, Emma has a sense of belonging she’s never known—and an attraction to the brooding Mr. Rochester. Now, moving between her two realities and uncovering secrets in both, Emma must decide whether her destiny lies in the pages of Jane’s story, or in the unwritten chapters of her own…

It was only a matter of time before I joined Waiting on Wednesday. There are so many books I want to read that haven't been released I just have to blurb them.

Okay, seriously. Doesn't this look like a fabulistic book?! And It's Jane Eyre and YA! LOVE IT. I can't wait for this book. Chances are I'll be there at the book store on the date it's released...we'll see.

Waiting on Wednesday is hosted by Jill @ Breaking the Spine.
Waiting on Wednesday spotlights books who's publication we are eagerly anticipating!
Not to mention a little bit of hyperventilation.

...I would be a bleeping Shapeshifter. Why? HELLO WORLD it's LEND!  And then I could seriously be a Faerie like Reth or a super fabulous Mermaid like Lish. I could be a Sylph. I've always wanted to fly. Or I could be an Empty One like Evie and HELLO, DATE Lend! Or I could be a vamp and get tased. I've always wondered what that would feel like........ But seriously, if I were a shapeshifter I could be TRANSPARENT (and that's super awesome.). Honestly if I was a Shapeshifter I wouldn't have to pick between all the awesome versions of Keirsten's Paranormally creatures. I could be them all.

Hi Blog. Sorry about the above. I just love Keirsten White's Paranormalcy series. She's doing an ARC contest for the last remaining book. UBER excited. If I can't snag my own copy. I'm going to buy myself an easy birthday present when it comes out July 24. But seriously, I have my eye on those ARCS!

Anyway if you're interested in the contest see HERE for details.

A Healing Heart by Melissa A. Hanson

Rating: 5 Stars

Format: E-book
Published: 2/14/12
Publisher: Self-Published by Author
Pages: 270

Summary: On a bitter cold winter night Bailey Walsh’s family was killed in a traffic accident. Two years later as she lives with her aunt and uncle in Southern California, Bailey is still plagued by the nightmares of that terrible night. Everywhere around her are reminders of what she lost. Even her aunt, in a cruel twist of fate, is not just her mom’s sister, but her identical twin. Babysitting Riley, a spunky two-year old, is a sweet distraction and one constant light in her life. One day as she takes Riley to the park she meets Collin McKenna, a senior at her high school and her life is changed forever as he helps her find herself and realize her life is worth living. As the romance between them grows her broken heart begins to heal. However, still nagging in the back of her conscious is the fear that her new found happiness could come crashing down and she could lose everything she loves, yet again. Outside forces begin to tear them apart and Bailey must learn to trust in herself and realize that she is worthy of happiness. That sometimes love and healing comes in unexpected forms.

The Book In 3 Words: Beautiful, Inspiring, Breathtaking

Rad Review: I was super lucky to have Melissa herself ask me to review this book for her. She sent me an e-book copy and I read it on my Mac in a day. This is one of those books that just impacts you. The Make-You-All-Tingly-Inside books. The themes of this book were healing and redemption in a way and I think it was beautifully portrayed.

The things that Bailey had to heal from were so sad and just crushing it made the book more what it was. I loved reading about the relationship and connection that Collin and Bailey formed and had. To me it almost felt a little to fast but it was just breathtaking all the same. When she shared the story at times from Collin's POV (and another character who shall not be mentioned), it drove the story home. It gave a bother layer that added to the incredibleness of the tale. I delved into both sides of the healing and growing for Collin and Bailey.

One thing that I just have to say I loved was Collin's devotion to Lacey. Having quite a few younger siblings I find that books that have that kind of a family bond are just beautiful to me. I've only read one other book where the boy was so devoted to his little sister. Little Riley and Lacey did add just sweet and precious moments.

I'm so glad I  had the opportunity to read this incredible novel. Thank you so much Melissa for the gift!

The Mermaid's Mirror by L. K. Madigan

Rating: 4.5 Stars
Source: Library
Published: 9/7/10
Publisher: Houghton Mifflin Harcourt
Pages: 308

Summary: Lena has lived her whole life near the beach – walking for miles up and down the shore and breathing the salty air, swimming in the cold water, and watching the surfers rule the waves – the problem is, she’s spent her whole life just watching. As her sixteenth birthday approaches, Lena vows she will no longer watch from the sand: she will learn to surf. But her father – a former surfer himself – refuses to allow her to take lessons. After a near drowning in his past, he can’t bear to let Lena take up the risky sport.
Yet something lures Lena to the water … an ancient, powerful magic. One morning Lena catches sight of this magic: a beautiful woman – with a silvery tail. Nothing will keep Lena from seeking the mermaid, not even the dangerous waves at Magic Crescent Cove. And soon … what she sees in the mermaid’s mirror will change her life …
Review: This was a really beautiful book. It flowed smoothly and I read it in about a day. It was another Mermaid book but one that I loved. Realistic and fun. With family trouble and new things with mermaids. I was really sad to learn that the author passed away a year ago, so there will not be a sequel. But this book is good enough to be a stand alone. I loved Lena and being with her. She was a great MC and I think she traversed the book really well. A round of applause for Madigan.
Content: Mild (a few instances of language, Lena and her BF fall asleep together for a little bit)
I loved this beautiful book. Worth the read.

I've got the special privilege of interviewing a fellow book blogger. Thalia from her book blog Pictures In the Words joins me today for a little girl to girl interview. Like me, Thalia is a Teen blogging her passion for the written word. She's a total bibliophile. She also loves to write and shares the dream of future publication. On the other side she enjoys video editing. Not much more to be said! We share a lot in common and I'm so excited she's here today.

Welcome Thalia!
Thanks! I'm excited and honored to be here with you!

Besides a love of books what made you want to share your reviews with others?
I'm always upset when I'm blindsided in a book with something inappropriate that makes me uncomfortable. I know at least through my reviews, I might be able to warn someone away from a book with something like that in it so they don't have a similar experience and have to read what I did.

When did you start really reading a lot?
I've always been reading something or other, but definitely when I started my blog last year is when I started reading a lot, and with a purpose. Plus, I've been reading a wider variety thanks to the recommendations I get from followers and friends.

M&M's or Skittles?
M&Ms, but only as long as they're peanut.

What's your favorite book genre to read?
Aah! Anything Young Adult, but if I had to be more specific I'd say Paranormal Romance

If you were fictional, what character from a book would you be most like?
Hmm...I'd probably say Yorda, from "Ico: Castle in the Mist".  She's really quiet and shy, but when it comes down to right and wrong and doing what's she thinks is going to help people she loves, she goes to whatever lengths she can to protect them. I like to think I could be like that, too.

What's Your Favorite Color?
Sky Blue!

Most excited books to read this year?
I'm most excited for "Of Posiedon" by Anna Banks. I've had that on my TBR list for like, eight months!

Favorite Book?
I really love the Mortal Instruments series by Cassandra Clare, the Pendragon series by DJ MacHale, and "Ico: Castle in the Mist" by Miyuki Miyabe!

Mismatched or Matched Socks?
Seeing as my socks are almost never matched, I will have to say mismatched.

Best Book Quote?
"It was all right to be sad. It was all right to lament. It was all right to feel anger. But it is not all right to run away.” Miyuke Miyabe

Thanks again for having me! It was most fun!

Make sure to check out her blog, literature inspire photos and fabulous reviews. I know I love them!

Wildwood Dancing by Juliet Marillier

Rating: 5 Stars
Source: Library
Published: 1/3/07
Publisher: Knopf
Pages: 407

Summary: High in the Transylvanian woods, at the castle Piscul Draculi, live five daughters and their doting father. It's an idyllic life for Jena, the second eldest, who spends her time exploring the mysterious forest with her constant companion, a most unusual frog. But best by far is the castle's hidden portal, known only to the sisters. Every Full Moon, they alone can pass through it into the enchanted world of the Other Kingdom. There they dance through the night with the fey creatures of this magical realm.

But their peace is shattered when Father falls ill and must go to the southern parts to recover, for that is when cousin Cezar arrives. Though he's there to help the girls survive the brutal winter, Jena suspects he has darker motives in store. Meanwhile, Jena's sister has fallen in love with a dangerous creature of the Other Kingdom--an impossible union it's up to Jena to stop. When Cezar's grip of power begins to tighten, at stake is everything Jena loves: her home, her family, and the Other Kingdom she has come to cherish. To save her world, Jena will be tested in ways she can't imagine--tests of trust, strength, and true love.

Rad Review: Wow this book was amazing. Juliet Marillier has made a masterpiece. A re-read book. It's a retelling of "The Twelve Dancing Princesses", but it's not! It's originality is so obvious it's practically it's own fairy tale.  Marillier crafted this book well. The writing was well done and I could really get into Jena's head! I felt with her. Something I love in a novel.

Her characters were well created and developed. Gogu totally rocks. I mean a talking frog for a sidekick...epic! How better could it get?! The romance aspect of the story was another great asset to this book. I don't like books that are oozing with romance. I do like some romance driven books, but not love packed. So this book fed it to you drop by drop, spoonful by spoonful in a satisfying way that came to a great conclusion with out knocking your head off with romance.

One thing that was really neat was that it was set in Transylvania. What an awesome setting. One of the great twists of this book. It's a riveting novel, with some good lessons in there as well. I loved all the girls. The fact that there are 5 instead of 12 was a bit of a welcome change. Sometimes 12 is just to much to keep up with! But with 5 I could really understand the sisters more. The only thing I didn't like about this book was......that it ended. And that is saying something.

Very engaging and well worth the read. It will not be time wasted. That I assure you. There is a sequel: Cybele's Secret.

I'm So Sure by Jenny B. Jones

Publisher: Thomas Nelson
Pages: 312

Summary: After her stepdad enters a new wrestling reality show, Bella is pulled along for the ride as her life goes on display for all the world to see. While the cameras roll, Bella must solve a prom-queen mystery, deal with her returning ex-boyfriend, and keep her cool as she works alongside newspaper editor Luke Sullivan.

The book in 3 Words: Hilarious, Mysterious, Romantic

Rad Review: I think that if my good friend had not loaned this to me I would have died. My library only had book one. Shame on them. These books are UBER EPIC! I loved it almost even better than the first. Bella and her narrative DRAW YOU IN. Jenny Jones just has the magic writing touch. One of the best Romantic Comedy/Mystery I've ever read! Her style is so fun.

This is a serious LOL book. I was laughing so hard. The humor, puns, sarcasm and wit of Bella, oh my goodness Jenny Jones you are amazing.  I loved everything.  The Mystery added a good touch and wasn't creepy or overdone. Added the right touch to these books. Luke. Is. Amazing. Hotness supreme. He's one of the best developed guys I've ever read. But don't worry this is not oozing in romance. It's a flavor and sub plot to taste. But still lovely all the same.

The struggles with family and her Christian life add a very realistic sense to these books. It's incredible that Jenny Jones could weave such an awesome plot together to leave you dying for more! Must Read!

Sketchy Behavior by Erynn Mangum

Rating: 5 Stars
Source: Borrowed
Published: 8/16/11
Publisher: Zonderkidz
Pages: 220

Summary: Drawing Conclusions or Drafting Disaster? Other than harboring a somewhat obsessive fondness for Crispix and completely swearing-off boys after a bad date (don't ask), sixteen-year-old Kate Carter is about as ordinary as they come, except for her two notable talents: art and sarcasm. After an introduction to forensic sketching in her elective art class, Kate discovers a third and most unexpected gift: criminal profiling. Her photo-quality sketch helps the police catch a wanted murderer and earns her celebrity status in South Woodhaven Falls. But when that murderer appears to be using his friends to exact revenge, Kate goes from local hero to possible target. Will she manage to survive? Will life ever be normal again? And will local news anchor Ted Deffle ever stop sending her flowers?

The Book In 3 Words: Funny, Mystery, Imaginative

Rad Review: I loved this comedic tale about Kate and her story. I sped through it in a day after borrowing from my friend. It was quite well written and it doesn't take long to get into the spunky topic of the book. Kate and her sarcasm light up the book in a clean, and fun humorous way. With the mystery of John X on her hands  her life gets very exciting and fun to follow.

If you are looking for a romantic comedy, this ain't it. It's all comedy and mystery. But it's not dripping in romance. There are some inklings of romance to add a little flavor, but don't get your hopes up. Overall a delightful tale that is for sure worth an hour or two of your time.

Everneath by Brodi Ashton

Pages: 370

The Book In Three Words: Beautiful. Haunting. Thrilling.

Rad Review: LOVED IT! This was one of those books that I finished the day I started it.  Kept my up till Midnight. Oh Epic. I loved the premise of the story and felt that it was really well developed over the course of the book. Brodi's writing also sucked me it.

One thing I loved about the way the story was told is that when you are getting her history, instead of having Nikki just thinking about it. Brodi actually puts the story on pause and goes back, writing the scene of the event she's thinking about as if it was happening then. So you are skipping from Present to Past. But it totally worked and I loved that look back. I understood so much better as the story went along.

The Theme of this book was redemption. Oh it was such a beautiful and well done tale. It just hit you. The redemption was gorgeous and so well portrayed. Amazing. As for the characters I love Nikki. And Jack. Really well done. I got so much more connect to Nikki seeing her past memories and so by the end for sure I loved her. What an incredible debut!

Bewitching Season by Marissa Doyle

Rad Rating: 4 Stars
Published: 4/29/08
Publisher: Henry Holt & Co.
Source: Library
Pages: 352

SummaryIn 1837 London, young daughters of viscounts pined for handsome, titled husbands, not careers. And certainly not careers in magic. At least, most of them didn’t.

Shy, studious Persephone Leland would far rather devote herself to her secret magic studies than enter society and look for a suitable husband. But right as the inevitable season for "coming out" is about to begin, Persy and her twin sister discover that their governess in magic has been kidnapped as part of a plot to gain control of the soon-to-be Queen Victoria. Racing through Mayfair ballrooms and royal palaces, the sisters overcome bad millinery, shady royal spinsters, and a mysterious Irish wizard. And along the way, Persy learns that husband hunting isn’t such an odious task after all, if you can find the right quarry.

Rad Review: I really enjoyed this book. The plot interested me from the moment I heard about it. London society vs. Magic. Totally awesome! This book was fun and clean and enjoyable. I loved there characters. The romance. The plot. Marissa Doyle crafted a spell-binding book.

There were definitely times I wanted to kick Persy for being so blind about Lochinvar. Hah, but all's well that ends well right? I loved the POV anyway. A very fun and witty read for anyone who wants a good book. Highly recommended

Summary: In search of a future that may not exist and faced with the decision of who to share it with, Cassia journeys to the Outer Provinces in pursuit of Ky - taken by the Society to his certain death - only to find that he has escaped, leaving a series of clues in his wake. Cassia's quest leads her to question much of what she holds dear, even as she finds glimmers of a different life across the border. But as Cassia nears resolve and certainty about her future with Ky, an invitation for rebellion, an unexpected betrayal, and a surprise visit from Xander - who may hold the key to the uprising and, still, to Cassia's heart - change the game once again. Nothing is as expected on the edge of Society, where crosses and double crosses make the path more twisted than ever.

Rad Review: Matched was so beautiful and this book just continued on that legacy. The writing and poetry of this book was just breathtaking. The symbols even more so. This is not a violent action Dystiopian. It's calmer. But it's still so amazing. The romance is so pretty. I just love Ky and Cassia. I can not wait for book three. I'm really curious how it'll wrap up but I think she might need to have more books. Like 4. But however it will end I love these books. Definitely worth it.

Rad Review: It would be an understatement to say I loved this book. TOTALLY EPIC people! I admit the first time the cover caught my eye I wasn't to impressed. It looked like some goth romance thing so I totally ignored it.  Then it kept showing up. Darn you Goodreads Ads. :D But I will forgive you. So I finally went to the page and read what it was about...and so forth. I was hooked. Again, the ads continued. Drove me nuts. Into serious hyperventilation.

So when I found out it was released I hurriedly opened my library website and put the first hold on it. I got it from the library and finished it the next day. At 11:52pm. I was not going to go to bed until I finished. When you first hear the idea it's a little strange (except in my case it totally seemed awesome). But the world just...worked! Marissa did a fabulous job with it.

Kai. EEEP!  The awesome thing about him was that not only was he hot but I really felt more about him. He wasn't just the "cute guy who the girl falls in love with". He felt like a real character. Cinder totally rocked as the MC, Loved it. Marissa's writing was great for a debut author. I think it can definitely improve as well. Plus somethings about the story telling could have been gone over more.  But over all. Fabo. Welcome to the World Marissa. And Cinder. :D Can't wait to see what happens in Scarlet!

Matched by Ally Condie

SummaryCassia has always trusted the Society to make the right choices for her: what to read, what to watch, what to believe. So when Xander's face appears on-screen at her Matching ceremony, Cassia knows with complete certainty that he is her ideal mate... until she sees Ky Markham's face flash for an instant before the screen fades to black.

The Society tells her it's a glitch, a rare malfunction, and that she should focus on the happy life she's destined to lead with Xander. But Cassia can't stop thinking about Ky, and as they slowly fall in love, Cassia begins to doubt the Society's infallibility and is faced with an impossible choice: between Xander and Ky, between the only life she's known and a path that no one else has dared to follow.

Rad Rating: 5 Stars

Genres: YA, Dystopian, Romance

Rad Review: When you go into this book, you must know this: There is hardly any action. It is not a breath-taking pace that has you turning pages to find out the resolution to the high-action drama. No, this book has you turning pages for the beautiful words and story. The battle that is Cassia and her story. Ally Condie has taken an idea used by so many and turned it into a lyrical novel that expresses it's message in a unique voice.

But I found it so beautiful and just amazing that I loved it for itself. The romance was so pretty to. The family emotions and drama, the Society that she developed. It was all brought out very well. This book was an emotional dystopian and I adored it.

Part of me wished for some action, and there were some parts that had it, but on it's own it's still amazing.

So Not Happening by Jenny B. Jones

Summary: Bella Kirkwood had it all: A-list friends at her prestigious private school, Broadway in her backyard, and Daddy's MasterCard in her wallet. Then her father, a plastic surgeon to the stars, decided to trade her mother in for a newer model. When Bella's mom falls in love with a man she met on the Internet--a factory worker with two bratty sons--Bella has to pack up and move in with her new family in Truman, Oklahoma. On a farm no less. Forced to trade her uber-trendy NYC lifestyle for down-home charm, Bella feels like a pair of Rock & Republic jeans in a sea of Wranglers. At least some of the people in her new high school are pretty cool. Especially the hunky football player who invites her to lunch. And maybe even the annoying--but kinda hot--editor of the school newspaper. But before long, Bella smells something rotten in the town of Truman, and it's not just the cow pasture. With her savvy reporter's instincts, she is determined to find the story behind all the secrets. "How can a girl go on when her charmed life is gone and God appears to be giving her the total smackdown?"

Rad Rating: 5 Stars

Genre: YA, Comedy, Christian, Chick-Lit, Mystery

Rad Review: Okay. I'm a total geek for romantic comedy. Fun, flirty, and hilarious is a ride I will take any day. This is one that totally fits that genre. Christian Author, Jenny B. Jones hits the spot.  Bella's adjustment is the main topic of the book, but then you throw in snarky wit and humor, a little mystery, some romance, blend it all together and you're set for this rollicking ride.  The writing was just fabulous! Smooth and like I said already, funny. You get into Bella, you laugh with her, you feel with her. I will say that her really stubborn attitude dragged on more than I wanted , but It cleared up along with everything else. Some things felt a little fast, but other than that I have no complaints.

It's a Princess loses her tiara and slips in the mud story. One that'll appeal to all YA lovers.
