Oh my goodness. This was an amazing book. I've been anticipating this windy day romance for-like-EVER, and boy did it live up to my expectations. It was beautiful, engaging, and romantic with a side of swoon. Everything I ask for in a book.
The story is told from the perspective of our dual narrators Vane and Audra. Audra is a sylph, an air elemental who also happens to be Vane's guardian. She's got a pretty broken past, and her character is pretty rough to begin with. And let me just say, I absolutely loved her. Her flaws, her problems, her sarcasm, her strengths. It was so awesome watching her breeze by as she changed and hit walls and began her path to redemption. What's especially cool, at least to me, is the other fact that she's Vanes guardian. FOR ONCE, it's a girl. Okay, so maybe it's more common then that, but seriously. Audra is a force of nature! Pun intended. Hands down, I loved her.
Vane, our second narrator, is also kind of AWESOME. He starts out on a very different level, and page than Audra, but he's still so amazing! He has to take in a lot of information, and his emotions went back and forth quite a bit. Yet, it worked. Both of the characters share quite the emotional roller coaster and it made them stronger and just endearing in a way. I could totally FEEL them. But back to Vane. He was also, a teensy by hot. Okay a LOT. I loved him. His thoughts cracked me up quite a bit. And with Audra they are the BOMB!!! Or should I say, a TORNADO? Seriously! The romance picks up and there's already been a sort of connection between them and it just grows into something, ahem, swoon worthy. I loved it all.
So...have we learned anything from this review? I am GONE WITH THE WIND over this book. I don't even know if that pun works but whatever. This book picked me up, I start on a small breezey draft and then I flew into the tornado. It was awesome. Needless to say I am pining for book two. I can't wait 11 months FOR MORE VAUDRA. The ending, while not a cliffhanger was still wrenching in a way. *flails* Okay, I'll shut up now. Bottom Line: GO. READ. THIS. BOOK. Now.

Even before I read this book I was at war with myself about reading this one. The cover and blurb looked fantastic, if a little cliche and the reviews were mostly Love-It or Hate-It. It kinda leaves a little room for doubt. But I was able to borrow a copy from my friend. I'm still at war with myself. I don't whether to love or hate this. I found a few things to be annoying, but at the same time I gobbled this up. Was it the moment? The writing? I don't know. But I will try to compose this into a realistic review. If that's possible...
So, we start off with a very cliched beginning. Girl-moves-to-new-town-sees-hot-guy-insta-attraction. It wasn't that bad at all. I didn't feel overwhelmed at it, but what did get to me was insta-attraction. She's drawn to him, almost obsessive like and she has a few run-ins and stuff but then when they finally talk/hook up it was just C-H-E-E-S-Y. Lol. I'm not kidding, like a few scenes were just *gag*choke* However, I think it wasn't devoid of all development. Luckily. As far as I can remember there is lots of romantic stuff, they have some moments of getting to know each other. I won't kid you though, Adam was pretty hot, and kinda cliche-hot boy. But I liked him.
Darn you addictive, half-cliche books.
Now, Megan was a good MC she wasn't hard to connect to, but she felt too easy? Oh, she was very realistic too the situations, she didn't have any unusually out of place feelings, but she didn't have as much depth as I would have liked in her. Past the romance and the part she's to play in the big "prophecy" I didn't feel like I knew her as well as I could have. But nontheless she got the story told. I liked the side characters. They were nice, adding some mild conflict, and more dimension to the story. Yay side characters.
By now you're probably thinking I didn't like this as much as I say I do after all that bashing. BUT, I really did like the originality behind the plots. I thought that it was an interesting idea and even though there is the issue of cliche "prophecy" it still held it's own and came out. BUT, I do have to say that I think this book could be more of a "set-up-the-plot-of-the-series" kinda book. Things don't revolve around much more than the romance until the last 3rd of the book and even then it's not alot. So plot-wise, I'm interested to see where it will in the next book.
Lastly, her writing is GORG. It wasn't over the top in descriptiveness, like too much butter on the popcorn, but it was easy to follow, and that's how it sucked me in. I just couldn't stop. So I really have to give Leigh a thumbs up for that. Good job. So there you have it. I have laid it on the table and now it's up to you decide how you feel. As for me, I enjoyed in the moment but after some thought I still found a few holes in the sweater. Luckily, I'm not frozen.

I can't even begin to say how I LOVE this book! I mean like I've never really been into Zombies and that whole genre, but this one caught my eye and so when It turned into my Random Read for this month I just had to give it a shot. It was so worth it!
One thing I absolutly LOVED was how the society was built. It's like Steampunk, but REVERSED. As in....Punksteam. :D (Which is very punny if you've read the book get some of the terms) It was totally crazy. A futuristic, technically advanced society, modeled after the Victorian era. I <3 Dystopia and I REALLY <3 Victorian time, so this was a very cool set-up. It was really interesting to read about how the society evolved. (Bonus Points for not being in the USA!) Very cool. I'd for sure have to say that this is one of my favorite fictional societies. So well put together! Meep!
Okay Nora was like everything I could ask for in a Main Character - Please Note: There are 5 different POVS tossed around but Nora is the MC- she was strong, independent, rational, stubborn, witty, and feminine. She was so fun to read. She was REALISTIC as well! Yaya Nora! Oh and now I'm so hyped to talk about my NEXT favorite character..BRAM! Let me just start by saying, HE. IS. HOT. I don't know how Lia pulled it off, but for a guy who's been dead for TWO years, he is swoon-worthy. I think it's probably his amazing character that tugs at my heartstrings, because I'm still trying to picture him as a hot dead guy. Lol. Thats my problem, but I LOVE HIM ANYWAY! He's kind, caring, loyal, smart, strong, and just....amazing. *swoon*
Their romance was so sweet. It wasn't rushed, it wasn't dragged on. It was a really nice pace and I loved the character development and how easy they got to know each other! Thumbs up for a really well done romance. As for the other 3 narrators in this story, for one, I was glad they were all in 1st person! I think it wasn't placed in a way that took away from the story but added some good depth. Even with 5 charries. It's just the kind of story that works that way. Pam would have to be my next favorite narrative. It's so tragic what she goes through. But yay for happy endings right.
So now we come to the Plot....as in...the Zombies. Now I've NEVER been big on zombies/vampires/werewolves. I've always been a Dystopia/Fantasty/Historical kinda girl. But you have to give an author credit for making you love a book about a genre you don't like. Lol. This is the first zombie book I can say I LOVE. There was a totally reasonable and actually interesting theory behind the zombie-ism and it wasn't just gross-people-out-for-more-brains. Well there were that kind, but there was the Bram kind, the SMART kind. So I was actually really intrigued by the concepts behind it and honestly found the plot to be very interesting.
Overall, we now that Inky is open to Zombies, is in love with a fictional dead guy, and is also obsessed with this gorgeous cover. I had a blast reading this, and can't wait to get my hands on Dearly Beloved! I'm SOOO glad it's now out. Hope I can grab that one soon!

In honor of Hidden's release today I thought it would be a good time for my review! I was lucky enough to get to read an *ARC of this book a couple months ago and loved it! These books are short and sweet. It's a very neat twist on dragon, with the whole shifting to human form side. And I have really enjoyed following Jacinda and her friends throughout their journeys.With the most action of all the books it's well paced and quite a rush to the conclusion. Sophie's writing flows and the story just runs. It's such a quick read that I was sad when it was all over. But I felt like it was wrapped up into a nice happy ending, so I can't complain.Jacinda went through quite a bit more development but it wasn't overboard for the last book. Normally the most happens in the first books. But I could relate well to Jacinda and follow her well. Honestly there isn't much to say about it other than that! I loved how the romance ended, even though I do really like ******* , ahem, the other boy. :D
So I'd say that the Firelight series is a keeper if you are ever in the mood for some quick light reads with a bit of a paranormal twist.

My Thoughts: It's been quite a while since I read this but I remember enjoying it, and with this book being widely popular I felt it time to review the first book. When I first read and reviewed this on Goodreads, my picky side took over. I picked it apart. But I'm toning this review down to a generally analysis. For your own sakes.
I'll start with what annoyed me. The content of course, but it wasn't terrible. It also felt like Clary didn't get trained much at all. I mean she is living with warriors and during their down time they don't teach her how to survive. They kept saying that she "wasn't trained" or things along those lines and I'd be like "HELLO!" Kinda annoying.
Clare did a fabulous job writing the book. She totally pulled me in and I really liked it. There were a few instances of predictability but I felt that it wasn't that bad. There were plenty of surprises to counter it. The story was well developed and interesting. I really liked most of the characters and how they were built up. A few words on them.
Clary- Clary is the main protagonist. The story from her POV was interesting, because she has the craziest story to tell. There were times I thought that she was being completly idiotic and stupid, as well as times I liked her. She had a very good voice at telling the story and she was defiantly a POV well done.
Jace - Where to begin? Jace was a very interesting mix of character traits. In a way he's the kind of guy you are really annoyed at and yet really like at the same time. There were times when he would have a complete character change really fast and I thought that it was just totally abnormal and out of character for him. But I did like him. Not sure what will happen with him as a love interest.
Simon- Simom was an interesting sidekick. (Is that the right term for him?) He's the best friend of the main protagonist. He's like the outcast who doesn't fit into the world. I liked him. He was a really good character. Go Simon. He did have his faults, yes. But I liked him all the same.
As for the side characters they were also well portrayed so that I got a good feel of the setting and what was being dealt with. I think this story was good. I enjoyed the time I read it and I was glad I got a lot of background and wasn't left in the shadows. I've heard incredible blurb about the rest of these books so I might just have to snag a copy of book two.
In One Sentence: A well written, enjoyable Paranormal novel.

The Book In 3 Words: Fun, Sorta-Creepy, Chiff-hanger!
My Thoughts: There are a ton of raving-good reviews about this book so I don't know why it took me a long time to read this book. I mean come on, the average on Goodreads is 4.06 and if it's over 4 that's usually a great sign. But I'm glad I finally did because I really enjoyed it. The story that you get from the back of the book just intrigues you. Or at least it did for me. I wasn't sure wether I'd like it as much though because of the ghost aspect. I haven't read a lot of ghost, and scary stories because I don't favor them as much. I've read somewhat creepy books in the paranormal genre but this was a new thing for me.
I loved Kelley's writing. She had a really good way of keeping you reading and interested. I liked her flow and style of writing. The characters were believable and intriguing. Some where the typical book characters, but some just popped at me with surprises I didn't see coming. Yay for character development. Chloe had a really great personality and perspective and I liked her narrative voice a lot. I could understand her way of thinking and why she came to certain conclusions. I can't remember a time I hated her or thought she made a stupid choice.
I will note that there is not much of a romance plot either. Some people hate books with now romance so I will say that there are the beginnings of one. Two guys, Derek and Simon. Kelley develops both boys. Derek the dark bad boy *insert heart flutter*, and Simon the light less aloof boy. Going with the no romance plot, there is no kissing and Chloe doesn't really pick sides or feel really drawn to either one yet. I am excited to see who and where this goes. All I will say is: Team Derek.
Some of you aren't a fan of ghost books. This might make you push it aside. Honestly I don't think it's that bad at all. It wasn't totally creepy or anything. It wasn't dramatized. There were a couple times that were a bit tense and ghosty, but I think it was well done enough that if you don't read it in the dark like I did it'll be fine and you'll enjoy this paranormal story.

The Book In 3 Words: Entertaining, Interesting, Paranormal
My Thoughts: I enjoyed this book. It wasn't a favorite but it kept my interest and I enjoyed where the story took me. The first thing that drew me to this book was the cover. WHAT A GORGEOUS COVER! I could stare at it, finger it, for forever. It's almost hypnotizing. Okay, not that much, but still gorgeous.
This book could be a stand-alone, but I feel like the way it ended left much room for a sequel. Good thing there will be one. I thought the plot was good and pretty well paced, but there was so much more that could have been included in the plot line. Not only to make it more flavorful, but to add depth and character to the people and things they are involved with. Lenzi, the main character was pretty well developed, but she annoyed me for the first half of the book. It felt like she was really whiny and complaining or something. So that bugged me, but she got over it so it was fine.
This was not a swoony boy book. *insert sad face* I wasn't inclined to rave or die for those boys. Zak was the annoying-boyfriend-put-there-to-give-tension-with-the-new-perfect-hot-boy. And Alden was the new-perfect-hot-boy-who-adds-tension-to-the-former-relationship-girl-has-with-boyfriend. Okay so Alden had more than one purpose and he was great but just not good enough to make my scarf.*
The take on paranormal reminded me of The Summoning by Kelley Armstrong (review to come shortly). I started both at the same time and the beginning's just were similar. It was an interesting voice, but the whole voices and dead souls has been done before. The whole, help-them-move-on isn't original, it's the way it's presented. I think Shattered Souls did well with that, just as I've mentioned, not enough to make it a totally fab book.
In One Sentence: An enjoyable read in Paranormal, but not one I'd consider a favorite.

The Book In 3 Words: Engaging, Thrilling, Romantic
Review: This was a very cool novel and I loved reading it. It was well written and easily enjoyable. It pulls you in as you follow Maggie's story. One of the things I thought was really great was how some Navajo legends (etc) were woven into the novel. It made for a really unique setting. I also really loved how Maggie's background with foster care and the families she lived with played into the novel even though we don't experience any of it with her except in memories. It created all that emotional trauma that she has to deal with. Like getting to attached. It was well done.
At first I wanted the whole, main conflict to be more a part of the story for the beginning. It seemed like a lot of the plot was Maggie adjusting, her struggles at school and Bridger. But it all played out so well I forgave those plot flaws. So I loved it all. It was great. I wish this was a series, but I am resolved and satisfied by how it ended.

((It was really clean except for maybe one plot instance. A result of the shifting Maggie does is that she is naked when she returns to human form. To prove who she is she has to return to human form in the presence of Bridger. She's naked for a few moments until he helps her get clothes on. That's it, but I don't see it as sexual in nature. Also not that there are kisses, some with fingers twining and etc. Nothing Over-Passionate))

Review: This was a really beautiful book. It flowed smoothly and I read it in about a day. It was another Mermaid book but one that I loved. Realistic and fun. With family trouble and new things with mermaids. I was really sad to learn that the author passed away a year ago, so there will not be a sequel. But this book is good enough to be a stand alone. I loved Lena and being with her. She was a great MC and I think she traversed the book really well. A round of applause for Madigan.

The Book In Three Words: Beautiful. Haunting. Thrilling.
Rad Review: LOVED IT! This was one of those books that I finished the day I started it. Kept my up till Midnight. Oh Epic. I loved the premise of the story and felt that it was really well developed over the course of the book. Brodi's writing also sucked me it.
One thing I loved about the way the story was told is that when you are getting her history, instead of having Nikki just thinking about it. Brodi actually puts the story on pause and goes back, writing the scene of the event she's thinking about as if it was happening then. So you are skipping from Present to Past. But it totally worked and I loved that look back. I understood so much better as the story went along.
The Theme of this book was redemption. Oh it was such a beautiful and well done tale. It just hit you. The redemption was gorgeous and so well portrayed. Amazing. As for the characters I love Nikki. And Jack. Really well done. I got so much more connect to Nikki seeing her past memories and so by the end for sure I loved her. What an incredible debut!

Rad Review: This book was so...beautiful! I absolutely adored it. The story was a very new take on Angels in the Paranormal genre, yeah! I feel like there are to many that deal with "fallen angels". Sure it's interesting but those books are always so...DARK. And I dunno, never been a huge fan of that dark stuff. I tried Hush Hush and that didn't work for me.
But anyway, Unearthly was a completely new twist. The little things that make up this book, like her carrot-red hair for example, LOVE IT! Cynthia Hand, not to mention, wrote this book so well you DO NOT WANT TO PUT IT DOWN. It totally happened to me. Insomuch that I finished it the day I started it. Practically. :D
Now the love triangle was good. By the end I changed sides. The family turmoil was beautiful, real and a huge part of these books. This book will hook you. For sure. It's so good and I remember feeling like I needed Hallowed once I finished it. You will to.

Rad Review: This was a really beautiful book. It's a new take on dragons and one that I really liked. The perspective of Jacinda is really great. She's a lovely character and I could totally get where her emotions and feelings came from. A lot of the book is internal conflict and family troubles. But the roman aspects are so cute as well.
Honestly there wasn't much action. This is one of those books that are beautiful for the writing and the story. Though it has tense moments and times things happen and make your blood race. I loved this book. Beautifully written.

Rad Review: I really enjoyed this book. It was a good sequel that I loved reading, but some things just bugged me! Like Jack. He was for sure a great character but her just like nagged at me the whole time. Course, that might have been the point. :D At the climax I settled my debates with him and I'm glad the he was in there to cause some tension with Lend and forge a little bit of a Love Triangle. Though Lend really doesn't have competition. He's just to good for that.
I feel like that with some of the book it took a while for the whole plot to be uncovered. I mean the book jacket gives off some things I wonder if they even know about yet. That annoyed me, but it was over all a great sequel to Paranormalcy Can't wait for Endlessly!

Rad Review: Okay so the blurb: THIS BOOK IS BLEEPING AWESOME. A new favorite. This is Kiersten White's debut into the realm of YA novels and she certainly came on with a bang. A big fire-cracking-mind-blowing-beautiful-cover-must-buy-now kind of bang. This is no joke. :D
Okay, so (A) The writing is SUPER funny (not to mention the awesome chapter titles). It flows, dips and dives and you flow, dip and dive right along with it. It's smooth and beautiful all in one. :D
(B) The characters are realistic, so lovable and you just want to eat them up you love them so. And (C) The story is awesome, so you can't help but not love it!
The romance is a romance and very cute (not heavy at all). :D The whole uniqueness of the IPCA is awesome, and it's a ride you'll never want to leave. Just ride over and over again. What a book Kiersten!
