Welcome to the book blast for the Keegan Chronicles! I'm super psyched to be spotlighting them today! They look totally awesome and I've been wanting to read them for a long time! Hope you guys get excited from this!

Keegan's Chronicles Trilogy by Julia Crane:

Coexist (#1)

Sixteen-year-old Keegan is struggling to keep her huge secret from her friends--she's an elf, descended from a long line of elves that live in secrecy alongside humans.

In elfin society, mates are predetermined but not allowed to meet until they are eighteen. Against tradition, Keegan's brother Thaddeus told her Rourk's name because his visions warned him she'd need Rourk's protection, especially since Keegan will play a key role in the coming war between the dark and light elves.
Conflicted (#2)
Keegan, is only alive now due to Black Magic, and her bond with her Chosen is broken. She cannot remember Rourk at all. For the first time, she feels like a normal teenager. She is dating Donald, her long-time crush, and everything seems perfect. But Rourk still feels their bond, and despairs for the woman he was always meant to love.

Keegan's best friend Anna is determined to find a way to use her powers to return Keegan's bond, no matter what it takes. The question is does Keegan even want it?

Consumed (#3)
Keegan has dealt with a lot over the last two years: Death, black magic and the loss of her bond to her chosen mate. But on her eighteenth birthday, the bond with Rourk returns.

Now, Keegan faces her hardest decision. Tradition requires elves marry at eighteen. If she accepts the path laid out for her, she will be spared a lifetime of physical and emotional pain. But will that life ever really be her own?

WHOA. I am STOKED to get my hands on these books! The covers are ADORABLE and I love Elves so I'm sure these are right up my alley! What about you?

Praise for the Keegan Chronicles
"Really enjoyed this book. The story draws you in, and the characters are engaging, especially Rourk. I've never read a book about elves, so I wasn't sure what to expect. This was really good. Would recommend to anyone interested in a quick, fun, paranormal read."
-- Amazon Reviewer

"I am not one for Elves or Fairies but yeah these Elves RULE! What is not to love? You have an age old prophecy, destined loves, a great family and amazing friends. Not to mention .... Rourk *yummy* All that is left is the amazing way it all is put together into this fantastic story."
-- Amazon Reviewer

Moving to a new high school sucks. Especially a rich-kid private school. With uniforms. But nothing is worse than finding out the first girl you meet is dead. And a klepto.

No one can see or hear Kimberlee except Jeff, so--in hopes of bringing an end to the snarkiest haunting in history--he agrees to help her complete her "unfinished business." But when the enmity between Kimberlee and Jeff's new crush, Sera, manages to continue posthumously, Jeff wonders if he's made the right choice. Clash meets sass in this uproarious modern-day retelling of Baroness Orczy's The Scarlet Pimpernel

Why I'm Hyperventilating:

~Yara, Once Upon A Twilight

Crossroads Excerpt:
He held me gently with both of his arms and wings this time.  All I needed was his touch, for him to  hold me that way; it made all the difference in the world. I was safe again. Without thought, I turned toward him. The look in his eyes was so tempting, telling me that he wanted me too. I knew it was impossible for him to want and need me the same way, but his eyes told me something else. The depth of my yearning and what I wanted to do at this very moment was undeniable.

I leaned toward him and tenderly placed a kiss on his supple lips to thank him. It was an innocent kiss. What was the harm in just one small kiss? I was extremely surprised that he didn’t push me away. I was even more surprised at myself. I was never the type to make the first move.

“Thank you for saving me,” I whispered, looking straight into his soulful eyes, as something came over me. Uncontrollable heat ran through my body.  He was right. It was dangerous, but it was me who couldn’t control myself. His eyes gave me permission to continue, so I gave him another kiss, but slower and longer this time. He kissed me back, but with much hesitation. His lips were warm and sweet like honeysuckle, just how I imagined they would be. The warmth spread all over my body like a blazing fire.

Still holding me, he pulled me away with a sudden jerk, his eyes piercing into mine with anger. His left hand was tightly wrung around my hair and the other gripping my shirt so I could feel the tightness from it. Panting, wanting more of him, I forgot how to breathe, and so did he. His eyes, still fierce with anger, gripped me even tighter as he slightly pushed and pulled me, fighting and uncertain of what he wanted to do. Feeling petrified, I had to prepare myself for the consequence of my actions, for I knew I had crossed the line.

 Between (#2)
As the alkins head back to Crossroads, Claudia leads her normal life; but not for long. Having a special soul, Claudia attracts danger, and she soon finds out who Gamma asked to watch over her. The Twelve, known as Divine Elders on Earth, are very much involved when they find out that Aliah, one of the God's first angels, escaped from the Abyss when the gates were opened by Aden. Needing Claudia's soul to escape the only place Aliah can reside-a place between Heaven and Earth-he sends his demons in search of all Claudia Emersons on Earth. Taking her soul will enable him to be released from Between and cross over to Crossroads, which would give him immense power. As more secrets are revealed Claudia learns about the venators--nephilim, demon hunters. Now two opposing forces must work together in order to save Claudia and humanity from the most dangerous angel ever created. But along the way, trust becomes a big issue. Will love be enough to keep Claudia and Michael together? Who will make the ultimate sacrifice? Who will betray them all?

Beyond (#3)
Torn between the past she can't remember and a future she isn’t ready for, Claudia feels at a loss. With unanswered questions, she is certain there is more to her past than just being a venator. Finding the missing pieces in her life won’t be easy because duty calls. When mysterious dark shadows get released, an apocalypse sets in motion. The venators and the alkins must work together once again. Knowing Claudia would be the key to destroying the demons that were released, a familiar stranger appears to protect her. Drawn to the beautiful angel, Claudia finds she must unravel the mysteries of her past in order to help save the world. Who is the angel assisting her and why does she feel a strong connection to him? Time is running out. Will she discover all the secrets before it’s too late?

Something Strange And Deadly
by Susan Dennard
Published: 6.24.12 by HarperTeen
Pages: 388
GOODREADS - PURCHASE
The year is 1876, and there’s something strange and deadly loose in Philadelphia… Eleanor Fitt has a lot to worry about. Her brother has gone missing, her family has fallen on hard times, and her mother is determined to marry her off to any rich young man who walks by. But this is nothing compared to what she’s just read in the newspaper—The Dead are rising in Philadelphia.

And then, in a frightening attack, a zombie delivers a letter to Eleanor…from her brother.Whoever is controlling the Dead army has taken her brother as well. If Eleanor is going to find him, she’ll have to venture into the lab of the notorious Spirit-Hunters, who protect the city from supernatural forces. But as Eleanor spends more time with the Spirit-Hunters, including their maddeningly stubborn yet handsome inventor, Daniel, the situation becomes dire. And now, not only is her reputation on the line, but her very life may hang in the balance.

Inky's Blurbings:
I went into this book expecting a novel, somewhat similar to Dearly Departed, in the whole Zombie-Steampunk factor. Let's just say, I came away from this book with a whole lot of different in it. It was a totally good different for that matter.

So. It's historical America, the time of debuts, corsets and courting. YUM. I mean..Fascinating! Haha, you don't eat corsets. Moving on. I really liked the portrayal that Susan gave of the society, but thinking back, I almost feel like some of it was just skimmed. We could have had a bit more into it. We got lots of looks at the exhibition and that was really fun, but I think something was missing. But then again, maybe since I've read a lot books with this area covered that I just wanted to dive into it more. BUT, nevertheless, Susan's writing and her historical accuracy were fabo. I had a good time reading it and it gave a very fun ride for historical lovers.

You know what makes this book totally rad? Z.O.M.B.I.E.S. Oh yes. This book is full of the Undead that have been rising. The question is WHO and WHY.  I was really interested in this aspect and I honestly did not see that answer coming. And I totally thought the Zombies were really interesting to read about. However. I was a little confused about them and also this Spirit that comes into the book fairly soon. I didn't understand WHAT THE HECK the Spirit had to do with zombies? That was actually quite confusing. I was like....WHAT? And then as things progressed it got clearer and I accepted it, if a little weird and out of place. I did really like where the plot with this went. It was clever and different from the other zombie books I've read. Which is basically Dearly Departed. Yeah, I don't read a lot of zombies.

So then we have Eleanor, or Empress and Daniel lovingly calls her. Personally I DIG that nickname. It's legit. Haha. And totally adorable. I really liked Eleanor. She was easy to follow, she had good emotions, narrated well and was just...fun! I can't say that she stood out in my mind in any special way but I can say that I really enjoyed the story as far as she goes. I would have liked to see some memories or reason s why she's so close to her brother, but that's okay. It was still wonderful.

Daniel. I. HEART. He has so much potential and from this book I already know he will have some great moments to come. Haha. I can't say I've fallen head over heels with him, but I already love his character and just really liked every scene he was in. Tehe! He's adorable!!!!!!

So honestly, I will have to claim this as a fun read. It was a really nice read and there wasn't anything I'm really complaining about, but there wasn't anything that just stuck with me enough to make it an all time favorite. I'm very excited to see how things play out with Daniel things.

Those are my thoughts? What about you? did you like this book? Do you like zombies? Historicals Do you want to read this one? Happy Monday!
Welcome to Week Two of the new meme hosted by myself, The Book Babe & This Girl Reads. If you missed the Novel Thoughts from Two Weeks ago, see...HERE! If you want to know how to participate and have SO MUCH FUN with us twice a month then goo.....HERE! But moving on, this week's topic is..................BELOW!

NOVEL THOUGHT TOPIC...
If you could live in the world of any book, which would it be? And which fictional world would scare you the most if you woke up there tomorrow?

Inky's Thoughts:
Wow. This is one epic topic to splurge on. When I first thought of what to say I was like......Huh? How am I supposed to pick? But then the answer slammed me from behind, and it's TOTALLY perfect. And obvious if you have any clue what my FAVORITE book is. Sooo my answer is....

MIDDLE-EARTH
The map itself proves how epic of a landscape it would be. But here are my reasons;

Why I Want To Live There:
I would FREAK OUT, literally FANGIRL to live there. On one condition. It's AFTER the time of Sauron. After the events of Lord of the Rings. Before? No thank you. But seriously. LOOK at the images below. Do you not want to live there now?
I mean just LOOK. Really LOOK. Isn't that GORGEOUS?! I'm in love. Always. I would die to get to live there!!!

WHY I WOULD HATE TO WAKE UP THERE:
I would hate to wake up there if it was during the reign of Sauron and everything looked like this:

That would be ugly, evil and oh-so UNCOOL. Never. I would freak out since I know how things were during that time. Course, I would know how things turn out...but STILL. I could be one of the peeps who DIES. Not for me.

OTHER WORLDS I'D LOVE TO LIVE IN:
BAYERN: I'd love to live here. It's a gorgeous land, generally peaceful and with a wonderful form a magic that it'd be hard NOT to want to live here. Just... EPIC. :D I'm in. All the way. (couldn't find a map sorry!)

BAALBODEN: I would HEART living here. For one thing, the world is epic, even with a big beast called the Cursed One. :D It's not totally messed up, and it's got this cool historical feel too it. Plus...LOGAN LIVES THERE!!!!!!! That's a huge bonus. Like, a SERIOUSLY epic-tastic bonus I could TOTALLY live with. If Rachel were dead.

OTHER WORLDS I'D HATE TO WAKE UP IN:

RAVKA: From the world of Shadow and Bone I'd HATE to wake up here. Just look at the map. It's creepy enough. This place is full for a dark magic and creatures. Eew. Eew. Sure, Male lives there, but honestly, I'd like to crush on the guy in a different part of town.

THE FINAL EMPIRE: Nope. Never. Can't Do That. I will never ever want to live in the lands from Mistborn. Why? You're probably wondering since I MAJORLY HEART THESE BOOKS. Hey, I LOVE Lord of the Rings but I would not want to live there. Same concept applies. I would HATE. And I mean hate, to live in the Mistborn lands while the books go on. It'd be like a living hell. No understatement. I wouldn't want to live there after these books happened either because....BECUASE.....*#$$^@!#$)@%($^ *.....I can't tell you. Unless you've read the books. Oh bummer, guess you're just gonna have too. ;)

SO! Those are my Novel Thoughts on the worlds I would Love/Hate living in! Thanks to Sarah for suggesting this AWESOME topic. Do you want to suggest one? Fill out the form HERE.

Venom (Secrets of the Eternal Rose #1)
by Fiona Paul
Published: 10.30.12 by Philomel
Pages: 432
GOODREADS - PURCHASE
Cassandra Caravello is one of Renaissance Venice’s lucky elite: with elegant gowns, sparkling jewels, her own lady’s maid, and a wealthy fiancĂ©, she has everything a girl could desire. Yet ever since her parents’ death, Cassandra has felt trapped, alone in a city of water, where the dark and labyrinthine canals whisper of escape.

When Cass stumbles upon a murdered woman—practically in her own backyard—she’s drawn into a dangerous world of courtesans, killers, and secret societies. Soon, she finds herself falling for Falco, a mysterious artist with a mischievous grin... and a spectacular skill for trouble. Can Cassandra find the murderer, before he finds her? And will she stay true to her fiancĂ©, or succumb to her uncontrollable feelings for Falco? Beauty, love, romance, and mystery weave together in a stunning novel that’s as seductive and surprising as the city of Venice itself.

Inky's Blurbings:
It is no small fact that I have been WAITING and WAITING for this book to come out. So when it reached my doorstep on that beautiful Tuesday in October I had a SPAZZ party! (See #VenomFreakoutParty). I literally had a Stare-At-This-Gorgeous-Book-For-Five-Minutes party. We had a photo shoot and everything. Then I read. Boy, did this book DELIVER! Time to fangirl!!! (Please do not be alarmed if new, unheard of words erupt in these paragraphs.)

I. HEART. Historical Fiction. It's a truth universally acknowledged, and if you didn't know that before you should now. So naturally, Venice Italy? Intrigue and Mystery? Can you say awesome? I totally love how will Paul was able to portray the aspects of the society. It was lush and beautiful, and deadly all at once. The grit of the harder edges of the society were portrayed, and we also got a look at what the richer societies had. It was intense, stunning, and pretty legit. I seriously need to just get on a plane and fly there or something.

Cassandra was a doll. I will admit, she is not my most favorite MC in the world. For one thing she's not told in First Person, which is my favorite narrative style. And honestly, it took me about 50 or so pages to get into her groove. But after we hit that mark, she took off. She was intense, she was independent and strong. She took the story in her own hands and made it rock. That was when it flowed and I just got on my raft and let it steer me.

What a ride. Through the deep canals of Venice into dark alleyways. Through passion, crushes, hot secrets. Betrayal. It was all there. And the end just left me hoping for more. We have so many secrets to be uncovered. What really is the Order of the Eternal Rose? What is Luca hiding? And FALCO. Oh boy, we need some more Falco! The romance hit a dive and I was like WHAT THE HECK HAPPENED?

>>>>>*Rewind*<<<<< Back to the Romance though. I can't NOT talk about Falco or Luca. For one thing they both have perfect Italian names. I HEART Italian names. (There's a random tidbit for ya.) I mean they end in the COOLEST letters, sounds, and um...I totally forgot the word....diphthongs? WELL, whatever it is, I heart the names of Luca and Falco. And the boys themselves of course. I'm not that shallow.

Luca. Cassandra's MYSTERIOUS fiance who we hear so much about. Cass thinks she doesn't like him, but she drops lots of hints. Then he appears! Handsome and much much different then she remembers. Honestly, at first he didn't appeal to me that much. He was a bit strange and awkward. Sure I got the HOT gist, but, maybe it was just that Cassandra was intent on shoving him out of her mind. But I wasn't getting the whole LUCA-VIBE, despite bloggers saying they liked him better. Needless to say I was quite CONFUDDLED. Then. Then, darlings. He started changing. It wasn't overnight. But he did. He had a mysteriousness about him that totally curiousified me!!! I wish Cass paid more attention to him. I liked him a whole lot better during the end of the book. I can't say if I LOVE him. But I for sure like his character, and there's so much we can LEARN that I'm just...CURIOUSIFIED!!!

I've talked up Luca. But oh. Dear, darling Falco.....how I like thee. Not Love thee. I'm so cunfouzelled at this romance triangle! I like Falco. OH BOY I LIKE HIM. He's for sure the epitome of a hot, mysterious, hilarious guy. But then there are HIS mysteries. SERIOUSLY! Every person has something they are hiding. It's like you can escape the secrets. There's always something hiding, doesn't matter who or what or where. So. I liked him, but as the story progressed I wasn't sure how I felt about him. I wanted more sincerity from him. I want more PROOF of his devotion to me Cass. But I will NOT in the slightest deny that I very much like Falco.

I JUST CAN'T MAKE UP MY MIND!!!!!

OKAY FINE. It's Falco. I've kinda always know this, you smexi artist hottie you. *INNER GIGGLE FANGIRL* So Fiona darling, give thyself a lovely pat on the back for wowing me with thy painting of Venice, and thy lovely character Cassandra. Wow. Just Wow. I can very much say that I totally dig this book. And if I have to wait any longer for Belladonna TO FIND OUT ABOUT FALCO AND LUCA to learn what happens to my dear Cassie-Pop, I will like....burst. Oh well. I guess that's why there are five Breathless Reads right?

Content: Milderate
(Italian swear words a few instances throughout. Mild crudity a couple times. They visit a very Fantine-like places and there are innuendos and a few descriptions. Cass gets an image in her head. Some kisses.)
5 Stars
~Hot-Diggity this book rocked my socks off. Lit-ER-Al-EE. Run to the bookstore RIGHT NOW and indulge yourself in some dessert.~

And that, my darling readers, are my thoughts on Venom. I approve very much. But what about you, thyself, and yours? Dust thou agree? Wilt thou share thy thoughts? Thy reviews? How didst I start talking like this? I think that review fairly befuddled me. ADIEU.

HappyThanks

Happy Happy Holidays you guys! Even if you live outside of the US, have a wonderful day! But what I really want to do on this Turkey Day of Thanks is tell you all how much....

....I FREAKING HEART EVERYONE OF YOU.

NO seriously. This is like the most cliched blogger phraseology ever, but it's true! Every comment literally makes my day. I'm not the biggest blog with the publishers, I'm not the most snazzily decorated blog, but I LOVE what I do and I love freaking out and spamming your life with books and it's so fun to get all your spams. Or should I say Un-Spam. Every tweet, every Goodreads friend request, every comment is like amazing. So. I hope you keep doing what your doing with sharing the bibliophilic love and keep it coming. I will totally keep it coming for you. :D

Oh! And you know what Thanksgiving means?! It's time to stuff my face and feel good about it. And tomorrow I can pull out the wallet and push play on my Christmas playlist! Let's get this X-Mas party started!!!

XOXOXOXOXOXO,

That alone is so pretty and breathtaking I would by this without knowing what it was about! So now read the synopsis. Drop your jaw. Stare in amazement. Look at me -my invisible self- with wonder in yours and on the count of three let's burst out into glorious song.............1...............2...................3............
*BURSTS-INTO-GLORIOUS-SONG-GANGHAM-OPERA-STYLE*
Okay. I've returned to my body. But SER-IOUS-LEE guys. Doesn't this book just intrigue you? It's a very mysterious synopsis to be sure, but I'm intrigued and DELIGHTED!!! I seriously can't wait to get my hands on this LOVELY 400+ page book come June.....wait JUNE?! No no no no!!! I must get an ARC so I don't die a tragic death. Alas Alack. Not much I can do about that. For now, I'll just stare at the gorgeous cover and dream about Annaliese and the secrets of her past. Just...MEEEP!

What are you Waiting On today?
