  3. Awesome, awesome giveaway! I love fairytale retellings. My favourite since I was in elementary was Ella Enchanted. I borrowed it from my English teacher for months at a time until she told me I could just keep it, lol. Favourite fairytale would have to be the Little Mermaid though! Hans Christian Andersen's original is super heartbreaking.

I love faerie tales! =) I find that I love the less popular ones the most, like The Swineherd or The Goose Girl--and I'm kind of grateful that Disney hasn't touched them. ;-)

    Thanks for the giveaway!

    1. I have to agree! My favorite one has been retold but it still feels like one of the less known ones to me. It's The Wild Swans. Totally. I feel like I'd be so worried Disney would botch it. (Even though Tangled was AMAZING)

  12. I LOVE fairy tales. LOL I actually left a long comment on the fave fairy tale question in giveaway. So here it is again because I don't want you to miss this secret I figured out. Go to goodreads and search "a retelling of" and this really awesome Once Upon A Time series will come up. (there're a few books not in the series that come up too) I've read most of them. They're written by different authors and amazing!! My favorite is Midnight Pearls: A Retelling of The Little Mermaid by Debbie Viguie. I think you'd like them. They're quick and romantic and awesome-sauce! :D

I think they're some of the ones by Cameron Dokey, but I've heard just as good things about them (Golden, Before Midnight, Wild Orchid). I will TOTALLY have to go check out the LM one! Sounds awesome! Thanks!

  17. I love faerie tales. When I was young, my first encounter with faerie tales on my own was through the giant compilation of the Grimm versions that I had. It made me more than a little unpopular in my primary school when I told the other girls about how the prince /really/ knew that the sisters weren't the right girl, but I still love those versions the best to this day.

  19. I love fairytales! As I think pretty much everyone does. My mom pretty much read one every night to me before going to bed when I was little. I have so many favorites... I especially love The Little Mermaid, although the original fairytale doesn't have a good ending there. I also always loved Sleeping Beauty, Rapunzel and Rumpelstiltskin.
My favorite retelling is Tiger Lily by Jodi Lynn Anderson, a retelling of Peter Pan about Tiger Lily through the eyes of Tinker Bell ^^ So amazing! ♥

  27. I love fairy tales! I have a hard time picking a favorite, but it's often between Sleeping Beauty, the Little Mermaid, and Beauty and the Beast, although I did love Tangled! My favorite fairy tale re-telling has been Ella Enchanted. In fact, it is one of my favorite all time books and I have read it multiple times! A quick funny side story about Tangled. I'm a school psych and at the end of the school year last spring I brought some movies for a teacher to use in her room one day when she only had four students due to the rest being on a trip. I brought a variety, since there were three boys and a girl in the class. I stopped by midafternoon and what where they watching??? Tangled!!! All 4 Jr. Highers were enthralled! Loved it!

  59. My favorite is Sailor Moon! I consider it a fairy tale and I think its the best! RANDOM FACT: Did u all of the world will end in 2012 bc Mayan crap isnt true? Im being serious the Mayan calender is circular and it has 2 different calcenders within eachother. The whole circle constists of a 52 year cycle. In Dec of this year it will be 52 year leading teh cycle to start over again. Im an anthropologist major and seeing the Mayan calendar as the reason for the world ending is so freakin annoying!
